"Well some people believe that Halloween is actually a Portuguese tradition that was originally called "Festa da Alduína" celebrated around 400 years ago. Alduína says the legend was a witch with a serious problem of oral hygiene that terrified the kids. To put away the fear, mothers would send the kids on November 1th (it's day of the dead here), dressed like the witch to ask for candies, there are even some old portuguese rhymes for that purpose.
Supposedly these tradition was taken by the Brits when they were here helping us to defeat Napoleon troops and then took it to the States."

Os restaurantes servem "jantares embruxados", seguem-se teatros pelas ruas da aldeia orquestrados por uma companhia de teatro e uma queimada final, no centro de Vilar de Perdizes.
